SWGMIF is my effort to break down what I’ve learned the past 5 years in my PhD program in human sexuality and my clinical work as a sex and relationship therapist. Both as a casual observer and trained professional, I’ve learned a lot about the human condition. While our differences certainly matter, we’re more similar than different and our society thrives on inequalities perpetuated by the belief that some differences are good and some are bad. I pull back the curtain on white supremacy, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, classism, ableism, and xenophobia to help people understand how we’ve ended up where we are. From there, we can have a discussion about where we want to go, which I believe for most of us entails greater equity and respect for all human life.
